According to the deployment of the State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism, Shanghai has initiated appointment vaccination of the new coronavirus vaccine for foreigners in Shanghai.

Starting from March 29, 2021, the city will include the appropriate age group of foreigners in Shanghai into the scope of domestic vaccines (marketing stage) in accordance with the principle of “informed, voluntary, self-paying, and risk-bearing”.

Foreigners in Shanghai who voluntarily vaccinate can make an online appointment to register for vaccination through the "Health Cloud” (健康云) APP. The city currently uses the domestically-made inactivated vaccine against the new coronavirus, and two doses are required for the entire course. Foreigners who have participated in our social security medical insurance enjoy the same treatment as other insured Chinese citizens. Foreigners who are not insured can get the vaccine at their own expense, and the cost is 100 yuan/dose.
