Shanghai adjusts the upper and lower limits of social security payment base in Jul.2023.

According to the requirements of the state, each province, autonomous region and municipality directly under the central government shall check the upper and lower limits of the social security contribution base every year.

The average salary of employees in full-caliber urban units in 2022 is 12,183 yuan/month. According to this calculation, from July 1, 2023, the upper limit of the city’s social security payment base will be adjusted to 36,549 yuan/month, and the lower limit will be adjusted to 7,310 yuan/month.
