On October 16, the WeChat public account of the “Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao” issued the “Notice on Further Optimizing the Visa Policy for Foreign Macao Residents to Visit the Mainland”, stating that, in order to further facilitate the exchanges between the Macao SAR and the Mainland, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao, starting from October 16, 2024, will offer a more convenient visa policy for foreign Macao residents (including permanent residents and non-permanent residents) to visit the Mainland:

1. Macao residents of foreign nationality may apply for multiple visas valid for 5 years with a stay of not more than 180 days for short-term visits to the Mainland to engage in activities such as sightseeing, business and trade, family visits and visits.

2. Foreign Macao residents applying for visas to China are exempted from submitting round-trip air tickets (train and ferry tickets) and hotel orders.

3. Macao residents of foreign nationality are entitled to “one-time fingerprint collection and long-term exemption”. Applicants who have kept their fingerprints in our visa offices abroad can no longer collect them when applying for visas at the PCPD.
