Train ticket reimbursement has been changed to e-invoice!
Since November 1, 2024, China’s railroad passenger transport sector will officially launch a fully digitalized electronic invoice system. Digital electronic invoice (railroad e-ticket) ticket information is richer, in addition to the passenger information, but also new value-added tax information and reimbursement company information.
I. How to get the e-invoice of digital ticket (railroad e-ticket)?
Passengers can obtain electronic invoices (railroad e-tickets) through railroad 12306 (including websites and mobile clients, the same below) truthfully after the end of the trip or payment of refund and change fees. Railroad transportation enterprises will issue electronic invoices (railroad e-tickets) based on the purchaser’s name, unified social credit code and trip information provided by passengers. The railroad transportation enterprise delivers the e-invoice (railroad e-ticket) to the passenger by downloading it through Railway 12306 or by e-mail, etc. The passenger can check the e-invoice through Railway 12306 or by e-mail. Passengers can query, download and print the electronic invoice (railroad e-ticket) through the railroad 12306.
II. Can paper train tickets still be reimbursed?
According to the regulations, if the date of travel is before September 30, 2025, the railroad ticket (paper reimbursement voucher) obtained by the passenger can still be reimbursed for the account, and the railroad ticket (paper reimbursement voucher) and the electronic invoice (railroad e-ticket) can not be reissued.
The government encourages everyone to issue electronic invoices (railroad e-ticket), so if you travel after November 1, 2024, you can issue electronic invoices (railroad e-ticket) through the above channels.
III. Precautions
1. After issuing e-invoices for passengers, railroad transportation enterprises will no longer provide paper reimbursement vouchers, and passengers cannot issue both e-invoices and paper reimbursement vouchers. 2.
