Adjustment of average monthly working hours
Today is first working day! Wish everyone happy new year of 2025!
In accordance with the Decision of the State Council on Amending the Measures for Holidays on National Annual Festivals and Commemorative Days (State Council Decree No. 795), the number of holiday breaks for all citizens has been increased from 11 days to 13 days. Accordingly, the monthly average system working hours and wage commutation methods for employees throughout the year are adjusted as follows:
I. Calculation of system working hours
Annual working days: 365 days - 104 days (rest days) - 13 days (statutory holidays) = 248 days
Quarterly working days: 248 days ÷ 4 quarters = 62 days/quarter
Monthly working day: 248 days ÷ 12 months = 20.67 days / month
Calculation of the number of working hours: Multiply the number of working days in a month, quarter or year by 8 hours per day.
II. Conversion of daily and hourly wages
According to Article 51 of the Labour Law, the employer shall pay wages on statutory holidays in accordance with the law, i.e. the 13 statutory holidays stipulated by the State shall not be excluded from the calculation of daily wages and hourly wages. Accordingly, the conversion of daily wage and hourly wage is as follows:
Daily wage: Monthly wage income ÷ Monthly paid days
Hourly wage: Monthly wage income ÷ (number of monthly paid days x 8 hours)
Monthly paid days: (365 days - 104 days) ÷ 12 months = 21.75 days
