Minimum wage update in Shanghai
With the approval of the municipal government, the minimum wage standard in Shanghai will be adjusted starting from July 1, 2025. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
1. The monthly minimum wage standard has been raised from 2,690 yuan to 2,740 yuan. The following items are not included in the monthly minimum wage and shall be paid separately by the employers:
(1) Wages for extended working hours
(2) Summer heat allowances, night shift allowances, and position allowances for working in toxic and harmful environments
(3) Meal subsidies, transportation subsidies for commuting, and housing subsidies
(4) Personal social insurance premiums and housing provident funds paid in accordance with the law
2. The hourly minimum wage has been raised from 24 yuan to 25 yuan. The hourly minimum wage does not include the social insurance premiums that individuals and employers are legally obligated to pay.
3. The monthly minimum wage standard applies to full-time employed workers, while the hourly minimum wage standard applies to part-time employed workers.
