Public holidays & compensatory days off in 2026
The State Council has approved the specific arrangements for the public holidays and compensatory days off in 2026. The details are as follows:
1. New Year’s Day: January 1st (Thursday) to January 3rd (Saturday) are public holidays and compensatory days off, totaling 3 days. Work on January 4th (Sunday).
2. Spring Festival: From February 15th (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month, Sunday) to February 23rd (the 7th day of the 1st lunar month, Monday), there will be a public holiday and compensatory days off, totaling 9 days. Work on February 14th (Saturday) and February 28th (Saturday).
3. Qingming Festival: April 4th (Saturday) to April 6th (Monday) are public holidays, totaling 3 days.
4. Labor Day: May 1st (Friday) to May 5th (Tuesday) are public holidays and compensatory days off, totaling 5 days. Work on May 9th (Saturday).
5. Dragon Boat Festival: June 19th (Friday) to June 21st (Sunday) are public holidays, totaling 3 days.
6. Mid-Autumn Festival: September 25th (Friday) to September 27th (Sunday) are public holidays, totaling 3 days.
7. National Day: October 1st (Thursday) to October 7th (Wednesday) are public holidays and compensatory days off, totaling 7 days. Work on September 20th (Sunday) and October 10th (Saturday).
